The 12th Dubrovnik Winter Festival has been officially opened!

Božidar Šustić, Director of the Maslina Community Services Centre, lit the first candle on the Advent wreath in front of the Rector’s Palace, and together with the Centre’s beneficiaries, he also switched on the festive lights on Stradun, officially marking the beginning of the 12th Dubrovnik Winter Festival!

The opening ceremony was further enhanced by a procession led by the Dubrovnik Majorettes, the Dubrovnik City Band, and Santa Claus, accompanied by little Santas and elves from the Lazareti Dance Studio Dubrovnik.

The musical programme featured performances by the mixed choir Libertas, the Luka Sorkočević Arts School’s klapa ensemble, and the Dubrovnik Children’s Choir.

After the ceremonial opening, the energetic Doris Dragović took the stage on Stradun, and over the next 35 days you can look forward to numerous musical, entertainment, and culinary events. The highlight of the festival will be the spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration with Dino Merlin, Hiljson Mandela, and Jakov Jozinović!
